Salaries Decreased or Not Paid, Citizens Pay The Penalty! - Police

It was a hot Wednesday afternoon, when a Police Hilux truck belonging to Inland town Police Station Onitsha, Anambra State was filled till there was no more space to load motorcycles, the Police men had to drive some by themselves to the Police Station.

"This N3,000 I had in my pocket for series of days now hoping it was mine, is now being collected by the Police" a motorcyclist lamented pacing up and down the Police post pleading for the release of his motocycle. This was also the case of so many of them lined up at a Junction know as Okosi Junction which is within the Onitsha metropolis.

One of the witnesses residing within the said Awka Road area which identity pleads anonymous also lamented in favour of the motorcyclists, keke and bus drivers saying that this have been the suffering these commuters pass through and which is supposingly unfair and unjust to stripe a man who woke up early bed and came out to look for daily bread for himself and his family.
One touching side was a resident of Okosi Street who stated that he stood each day to watch this police men molest and intimidate the citizen who they are suppose to protect, "How then is the Police your friend? Sometimes these police men go to the extent of pushing and dragging a motorcycle on motion with the driver resulting to injuries for the motorcyclist and his passenger" He added.

Most of this motorcyclists have score numbers of children or probably pregnant wives to feed to be deprived of his daily schedules.
"Officers should learn to tender justice with mercy.....after all the Holy Bible quotes in Matthew that; Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy" he concluded.

Our correspondent who spoke with a police officer at the Inland Town Police Division located at Onitsha metropolis gathered; according to the words of the officer that it was not their intention to molest or intimidate these citizens but the fact is that they are also looking for their own means of feeding their families and meeting personal needs as to the effect of the decrease in their salaries, "As the government dey give us peanut salary nah....na people go dey suffer am!" The officer exclaimed.
