In a bid to protest the recent school
fees hike by the Government, students of Lagos State University have
taken to the Ikeja Airport road right down to Ikeja bus-stop in Lagos
State.
The protest is aimed at calling the attention
of the state government to the outrageous cost of education. The
incident has caused a lot of traffic gridlock on the Ikeja road for some
time now as the students have succeeded in using a truck to cause an
obstruction on the said commercial road.
The students and lecturers of Lagos State
University recently embarked on an indefinite strike to protest the
school fees increase.
The students were presently in Oshodi to
continue their protest. Police officers have reportedly sprinkled
Teargas into the air to disrupt the protest. According to the SUG
(Student Union Government), some of the students have been arrested.
