The Central Bank of Nigeria has put in place modalities to introduce the cashless policy 30 states of the federation having completed phases 1 and 2 of the policy in six pilot states- Abia, Anambra, Lagos, Ogun, Kano, Rivers- and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The CBN, in a notice by its Corporate Affairs Department to all stakeholders and the general public, said Phase 3 of the policy’s implementation would commence in the remaining 30 States of the Federation on July 1 as scheduled.
The apex bank also said it has mapped out modalities to ensure the cashless policy succeeds in other parts of the state as it did in the pilot states.

Google and Microsoft will add a "kill-switch" feature to their Android and Windows phone operating systems. The feature is a method of making a handset completely useless if it is stolen, rendering a theft pointless. Authorities have been urging tech firms to take steps to help curb phone theft and argued that a kill-switch feature can help resolve the problem.
Apple and Samsung, two of the biggest phone makers, offer a similar feature on some of their devices. The move by Google and Microsoft means that kill switches will now be a part of the three most popular phone operating systems in the world.

RIP! Late Kfee's Remains Arrives Nigeria as Memorial Holds in Us
Six days after the demise of famous Nigerian singer, Kefee, her corpse has finally arrived Nigeria from the United States where she gave up the ghost.
According to reports, the remains of the late singer arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos via a Delta Airline aircraft on Tuesday, 17 June, 2014, ahead of her burial expected to hold later this month.
It was gathered that Kefee's body was received by a few members of her family when it arrived Nigeria at 4pm.

PayPal is entering 10 new countries this week, including Nigeria, providing online payment alternatives for consumers via mobile phones or PCs in markets often blighted by financial fraud.
Rupert Keeley, the executive in charge of the EMEA region of PayPal, the payments unit of eBay Inc, said in an interview on Monday the expansion would bring the number of countries it serves to 203.
Starting on Tuesday, consumers in Nigeria, which has 60 million users and has Africa's largest population, along with nine other markets in sub-Saharan Africa, Eastern Europe and Latin America will be able to make payments through PayPal.

Lasu Students Protest in Ikeja Lagos- See full Details
In a bid to protest the recent school
fees hike by the Government, students of Lagos State University have
taken to the Ikeja Airport road right down to Ikeja bus-stop in Lagos
State.
The protest is aimed at calling the attention
of the state government to the outrageous cost of education. The
incident has caused a lot of traffic gridlock on the Ikeja road for some
time now as the students have succeeded in using a truck to cause an
obstruction on the said commercial road.
The students and lecturers of Lagos State
University recently embarked on an indefinite strike to protest the
school fees increase.
The students were presently in Oshodi to
continue their protest. Police officers have reportedly sprinkled
Teargas into the air to disrupt the protest. According to the SUG
(Student Union Government), some of the students have been arrested.
