The New CBN Cashless Policy Commences 1 July 2014, Things you really want to know about this.. See More









The Central Bank of Nigeria has put in place modalities to introduce the cashless policy 30 states of the federation having completed phases 1 and 2 of the policy in six pilot states- Abia, Anambra, Lagos, Ogun, Kano, Rivers- and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The CBN, in a notice by its Corporate Affairs Department to all stakeholders and the general public, said Phase 3 of the policy’s implementation would commence in the remaining 30 States of the Federation on July 1 as scheduled.

The apex bank also said it has mapped out modalities to ensure the cashless policy succeeds in other parts of the state as it did in the pilot states.

An elevated network of sky cars is to be built in Tel Aviv.
 A 500m loop will be built on the campus of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) followed by a commercial network, according to skyTran, the company that will build it.

Two-person vehicles will be suspended from elevated magnetic tracks, as an alternative transport method to congested roads, the firm promised.

It’s always smart to expect the unexpected with Google, but a new report from Seth Weintraub at9to5Google is the most unexpected Google I/O rumor we’ve ever heard. One of Weintraub’s sources, who apparently tipped him off to Google’s Glass skydiving stunt two years ago, says that there’s a chance that Google will take the wraps off of “some cutting-edge micro bots that can detect things like certain kinds of cancer” at I/O this year, although the source cautions that these nanobots are at least two years away from being ready to launch onto the market.

Android and Windows to Introduce 'kill switch' for anti theft Programme


Google and Microsoft will add a "kill-switch" feature to their Android and Windows phone operating systems. The feature is a method of making a handset completely useless if it is stolen, rendering a theft pointless. Authorities have been urging tech firms to take steps to help curb phone theft and argued that a kill-switch feature can help resolve the problem.

Apple and Samsung, two of the biggest phone makers, offer a similar feature on some of their devices. The move by Google and Microsoft means that kill switches will now be a part of the three most popular phone operating systems in the world.

RIP! Late Kfee's Remains Arrives Nigeria as Memorial Holds in Us



Six days after the demise of famous Nigerian singer, Kefee, her corpse has finally arrived Nigeria from the United States where she gave up the ghost.

According to reports, the remains of the late singer arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos via a Delta Airline aircraft on Tuesday, 17 June, 2014, ahead of her burial expected to hold later this month.

It was gathered that Kefee's body was received by a few members of her family when it arrived Nigeria at 4pm.

Facebook Inc launched a smartphone app on Tuesday that will allow consumers to exchange disappearing photos and videos without requiring Facebook accounts, the Internet company's latest effort to develop mobile services beyond its core social network.

Hot and Trendy! PayPal Extends Service to Nigeria.


PayPal is entering 10 new countries this week, including Nigeria, providing online payment alternatives for consumers via mobile phones or PCs in markets often blighted by financial fraud.

Rupert Keeley, the executive in charge of the EMEA region of PayPal, the payments unit of eBay Inc, said in an interview on Monday the expansion would bring the number of countries it serves to 203.

Starting on Tuesday, consumers in Nigeria, which has 60 million users and has Africa's largest population, along with nine other markets in sub-Saharan Africa, Eastern Europe and Latin America will be able to make payments through PayPal.

Sad News!! Kfee is gone!!!



I couldn't believe the first news I I wanted to be 100% sure it's true...unfortunately it is. Our Branama queen is gone. Kefee Obareki Don Momoh passed away this morning at the US hospital where she was taken to after she collapsed and went into coma. She never came out of the coma. Her international manager has confirmed her passing and Kefee's husband also confirmed to a Star FM staff, where he works. What a sad day. May her soul rest in peace..Amen.

This is just too sad! She was just in her mid 30s...looking forward to a great future...recently released a song...working on an album, spent 8 months in the US to pursue courses in video production and directing so she could pursue her dreams...and now she's gone. Too sad!

The former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi has assured Nigerians that the Late Prof. Dora Akunyili will be given a proper burial befitting her status and fame for positive things he did for Nigeria. Obi was speaking yesterday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja, shortly before he received her mortal remains flown in a private aircraft from India yesterday, accompanied by her husband, Dr. Chike Akunyili and her younger brother, Dr. Anayo Edemobi. The remains were conveyed to a mortuary in Abuja in an Ambulance written Nigerian-Turkish Nizamiye Hospital.

Sports: All 64 World Cup Matches To Be Broadcast In The Air


Nine airlines are going to broadcast all 64 World Cup matches in the air all over the world this summer for the first time in history.




The passengers of such airlines as Lufthansa, Emirates, Etihad, Turkish Airlines and more don't have to worry about missing their country’s games while flying.

The majority of games will be shown live, including the tournament’s opening fixture between hosts Brazil and Croatia on June 12.

Match coverage will be produced by FIFA’s TV broadcast production team before it’s tailored for in-flight viewing by IMG Media.

Richard Wise, senior vice president of IMG Media, said: "We are committed to showing the biggest events live on Sport 24 and we are obviously therefore delighted that we will be carrying FIFA TV’s broadcast production of the 2014 FIFA World Cup on the channel.

"Football fans who will need to travel by air during the tournament can now choose to do so safe in the knowledge that they need not miss any of the action in Brazil this summer."

On May 29 the plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Los Angeles for the singer to received medical treatment.
The reports reaching us Monday said she was on life support, however those could be considered rumours until now. Popular blogger Linda Ikeji contacted  Kefee's publicist, who confirmed she is in coma, currently being under intensive care.
Meanwhile Teddy Don-Momoh, "Kokoroko" crooner's husband of two years, urged people to pray for his wife. He took to Twitter to share the emotional status:

It would be recalled that upon hearing the news Don-Momoh immediately rushed to LA to be with Kefee.

Lasu Students Protest in Ikeja Lagos- See full Details





In a bid to protest the recent school fees hike by the Government, students of Lagos State University have taken to the Ikeja Airport road right down to Ikeja bus-stop in Lagos State.
The protest is aimed at calling the attention of the state government to the outrageous cost of education. The incident has caused a lot of traffic gridlock on the Ikeja road for some time now as the students have succeeded in using a truck to cause an obstruction on the said commercial road.

The students and lecturers of Lagos State University recently embarked on an indefinite strike to protest the school fees increase.

The students were presently in Oshodi to continue their protest. Police officers have reportedly sprinkled Teargas into the air to disrupt the protest. According to the SUG (Student Union Government), some of the students have been arrested.
